THE MISSION STATEMENT The University of Lewis, guided by its Catholic and Lasallian heritage, offers a diverse student population programs for liberal and professional education based on the interaction of knowledge and fidelity in the search for truth. Lewis promotes the development of the whole person through the pursuit of wisdom and justice. Central to its mission is a spirit of partnership that fosters community throughout teaching, learning and service. Lewis is one of 60 universities in the world, sponsored by De La Salle Christian Brothers, an international order of Roman Catholic teaching.

Lewis University's Mission Statement is guided by its mission values, which are inspired by the Lasallian Fundamental Principles. The Office collaborates with faculty and staff to promote the University's Mission in the spirit of Partnership through a variety of structures, including the Mission and Heritage Council, the Center for Ministry and Spirituality, the Lasallian Vocational Council, the University Ministry, the Department of Theology and others.
